Dr Ron Granot is an experienced neurologist, with a focus on headache and chronic pain conditions as well as neurophysiology.
MB BS (University Medal, Hons I), BSc(Med), FRACP. Dr Granot graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Medical Science (Medicine and Surgery) in 1999, with First Class Honours and the University Medal. He completed fellowships in neurophysiology and pain. Dr Granot is accredited with the Medical Board of Australia, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists. He is a conjoint lecturer at UNSW.
With a passion for his patients, Dr Granot is always looking for ways to improve the healthcare system and the services he provides. Along with his extensive practical experience, Dr Granot has also produced a number of publications, including book chapters on “Endozepines” and “Computer Technology in Medical Practice and Its Impact on the Delivery of Health Care” as well as numerous journal articles. He has also given presentations on the topic of AI and IT in healthcare, and participated in a podcast on the future of the Federal Government’s Electronic Medical record. He delivers talks to GPs and other specialists in the area, some of which are in the form of a podcast (here and here).
Dr Granot is the creator of the Better Consult clinical system (formerly DoctorHx) — created to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the clinical consultation, with benefits for quality of care as well as note-taking and administrative tasks, to ultimately improve patient-focused care.
Accreditations
Dr Granot is accredited with the Medical Board of Australia, is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists, and in addition holds other specific accreditations:

- Pain-focused fellowship — St Vincent’s Hospital
- Conjoint Lecturer, The University of New South Wales
- Trained programmer for Deep Brain Stimulation therapy in Parkinson’s disease
- WorkCover-accredited Permanent Impairment Assessor — medicolegal reports including Independent Medical Examinations
He is currently on the Australian Medical Association NSW (AMA NSW) state committee as well as the Royal Australasian College of Physicians NSW State Committee (RACP NSW).
