Telemedicine is growing in popularity and gradually in efficiency. Many see this as a way of overcoming the difficulty with attendance, especially for rural and remote patients, for whom such care is subsidised in Australia.
There are drawbacks, especially due to difficulty with examining patients, but the advantage of quick access is considerable. Some argue this is an old fashioned notion and telemedicine I suspect will have an increasing place.
Optimisation of telemedicine to make the consultation easier for both sides, doctor and patient, still had work to be done on it.
