Medications are useful in combating disease, but one of the biggest reasons for their not having their full benefit is that people don’t actually take them. 

Up to half of patients don’t take their medications as they are meant to. This can be because the reason why is not explained or understood, so make sure you know why you are taking each medicine. Another reason is side effects; if this is a problem, talk to your doctor about changing the way you take it, the dose or the tablet itself. 

But sometimes, it is just remembering, especially when medications are taken twice or more per day. 

Technology is meant to help, with pill boxes that link to your phone, among other new tools. But an alarm may need the easiest solution.
